When you’re having a long and arduous work week, it’s only natural that you start to plan fun activities for the weekend that will take your mind off the week you’ve had and help you make the most of your weekend in Lagos
If you’re new to Lagos as well, you might be wondering what exactly a weekend in Lagos entails and how you can make the most of it.
It usually varies from individual to individual and depends on what you like to do and what you are comfortable with, but I think that there’s something for everyone to do during the weekend in Lagos.
Let’s explore the options, shall we?
- Go to the cinema
I think this is the most common and budget friendly option to unwind either on your own or with a group. There are a lot of cinemas scattered in different locations in Lagos. Pick the one closest to you and enjoy a nice movie.
- Go to a park
There are lots of parks in Lagos that you can go to to have a picnic or just hang out with friends or family. The more popular ones include Freedom Park, Apapa Amusement Park, Fun Factory, Ndubuisi Kanu Park and more.
- Go to the beach
Lagos is a state surrounded by water, which means that beaches aren’t hard to find. Though there are none left open to the public, you can get into most of them and have a great time for a token. The beaches in Lagos include Elegushi, Eleko, Bar Beach and more.
- Take a trip to the mall
A lot of malls have sprung up in Lagos over the years; The Palms, Ikeja City Mall, City Mall, and Leisure Mall are only a few of them. Malls are a great place to spend time at the weekend in Lagos. You can walk around, do some shopping, and get a bite to eat with some friends. Most of these malls have cinemas so you can condense a cinema visit into a mall visit as well.
- Visit an art gallery
There are quite a few of them. If you are an art lover or someone who just wants to take in some culture at the weekend, you can consider visiting one of the art galleries in Lagos like Rele art gallery, Nike Art Gallery, Terrakulture, etc.
- Attend an event
If you don’t have a party already lined up to go to, there is never a shortage of events to attend in Lagos; beach and house parties, comedy shows, concerts, exhibitions and more. As a matter of fact, on Fridays here at EverydayLagos, we curate events happening every weekend. So if you are confused about what to do with your weekend, head over to our events page and we’ll have you sorted.
